I recently had the privilege of visiting a restaurant that I hadn’t tried before. My husband and I don’t eat out often because I’m usually disappointed by the choices available for my dietary needs. A lot of restaurants still don’t have any gluten-free options, not to mention dairy, soy, egg and sugar free! When our 15th anniversary was close my husband started calling restaurants to find one that would accommodate my needs. Our favorite place, Red Rocks in Charlotte, NC, was completely booked that night, so we had to find something new. He made a reservation at The King’s Kitchen downtown Charlotte. I was reluctant, but not only was the service amazing, but the meal they cooked was one of the best I’ve ever tasted! Braised cabbage was on my plate and it was incredible! I had to figure out how to make something like it, so here’s my best shot at a great braised cabbage. It was a winner at my house, because everyone loved it, including my 6 year old! That’s a feat because she is super picky! I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. Let me know what you think when you try this easy and delightful dish!
P.S. I get my cabbage pre-shredded to make it faster to prepare.
